Alliance Medical are recruiting for a Medical Administrator/ Radiographer’s Assistant to join our busy and friendly team at our centre in Portlaoise.

 


Contract: 
Part-time, Permanent

Working Hours

  • 20 hours per week (2 days between Monday and Saturday)
  • Typical schedule: 2 10hour shifts (8am-6pm), with days varying week to week
  • Hours may vary depending on business needs

 

This will suit an individual who is enthusiastic and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy is key. The successful candidates will be involved in confirming & scheduling radiology appointments, updating systems, making & receiving phone calls, being the first point of contact to the patients when they arrive to the centre & providing excellent customer service at all times.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and confirm radiology appointments with sensitivity and precision
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients and families, ensuring a warm and professional welcome
  • Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls and manage appointment-related queries
  • Accurately update patient records and internal booking systems
  • Work closely with radiology and clinical staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Provide consistent, compassionate support to patients and their families throughout their visit
  • Provide reassurance to patients by way of clear explanation as to the nature of an examination.
  • Verifying the 3 point checks with patients.
  • Assist Radiographers in moving and handling of patients to ensure a safe environment.
  • Prepare the examination rooms for different types of examination, ensuring rooms are kept clean and tidy and stocked with supplies.
  • Observe Divisional policies in respect of patient care, Health and Safety and Radiation Protection.
  • Cleaning of coils and scanning room.
  • Act as a chaperone if required for the patients and clinicians benefit.
  • BLS trained; able to manage patients who become acutely unwell whilst in the department, or who suffer adverse contrast reactions.
