Fingleton White provide multidiscipline engineering services for the energy industry. We provide a full range of design, construction and commissioning services and are active across many sectors including Renewables, Gas Networks, Water, Energy & Utilities, and Asset Management. The company is responsible for planning and development of some of the most significant projects in the energy sector in Ireland. We have 8 offices across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and England with over 200 staff.

Position:

The Role..

HR Generalist – REF 2616

 

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to both the delivery of core HR services and the ongoing development of scalable, consistent and effective people practices.

 


Key Responsibilities….

HR Operations

  • Deliver HR support across the employee lifecycle, with a focus on service quality and responsiveness
  • Contribute to the review and continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency
  • Ensure accurate data management and reporting in compliance with GDPR
  • Maintain and improve HR systems
  • Support HR initiatives including employee engagement and diversity & inclusion
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required

 


Employee Relations

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employee queries
  • Advise and coach managers on employee relations matters, policies, and best practice
  • Handle more complex cases and ensure a fair and consistent approach
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation across all jurisdictions

 


Organisational Design & Workforce Planning

  • Work with sector leads to identify current and future hiring needs, aligning headcount plans with business priorities
  • Partner with managers to plan and structure their teams effectively
  • Support the definition of clear roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines to ensure teams operate efficiently
  • Contribute to building scalable approaches to workforce planning and team design to meet evolving business needs

 


Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or support HR projects
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and employee experience

The location for this role will be in our Portlaoise office, there will be a need to travel to other sites as required.


Requirements:

The Candidate….

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a HR generalist role
  • CIPD qualification would be an advantage
  • Proven experience managing employee relations cases
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Practical, solutions-focused, and collaborative
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
